Our licensed acupuncturist with a smile on her face

YUKIKO NAOI M.S. L.Ac. / Founder

Yukiko grew up in Tokyo Japan, where Shinto and Buddhist temples sit amongst skyscrapers and subways. That influence of our connection with the natural world exists side by side with the secular urban landscape. Acupuncture was part of her family’s self care regimen, and she has always considered it a basic part of health maintenance in city life.

Besides Yukiko’s extensive training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, Yukiko holds a BFA in interior design and an MFA in industrial design. She has over a decade of experience as a creative director, designing medical devices for surgeries and diagnostics, as well as consumer products and pharmaceutical packaging. Being so closely acquainted with the methods and precision needed for complex medical procedures, her interest was re-ignited in the science of acupuncture for both disease treatment and more specifically as preventative medicine.

After completing her Masters of Science from Tri-State College of Acupuncture, Yukiko’s interest in complicated disorders and previous work in medical technology, led her to study with one of her mentors at a post-graduate apprenticeship in the Integrative Therapies Program for Children with Cancer at Columbia University Medical Center. While maintaining her private practice, she also worked in a high volume community clinic where she was able to treat a variety of conditions. During this time she became interested in the profound healing that can happen within a group dynamic.
